藝術市集 Craft Fair

這個週末在南藝有藝術市集，準備了幾件抽象幾何的金屬作品共襄盛舉，歡迎有興趣的朋友來逛逛。
 Tainan National University of the Arts will have craft fair this weekend. This time the fair also has organic food section. I prepare several woven metal works to sell in the fair. Come visit the fair to see more interesting crafts.
Those works are created by dobby software (Weavepoint); but woven on SAMTEX Jacquard hand loom.
The interlacement of warp and weft create structural shape and color which is very different from Jacquard structure. The dobby woven images have inner regulation of the structure.

最近的進度 Recent Progress

This is the recent progress of the flower series which is woven with 100% metal wire.

This warp is finished and the woven fabric was cut to pieces. There are two sizes--30x30 cm and 50x50 cm.

Piles of woven flowers are waiting for finishing. The edges of each are dangerously sharp and very easy to unravel. By stitching to secure the edges and attaching to a plastic board to protect it from damage. Amazingly the finishing process takes much longer time than weaving.

最近的進度是織完這組經線，剪下並裁切成許多片。小的是30公分見方，大的是50公分見方。因為裁剪使得四邊的線容易鬆脫，所以必需手縫固定布邊，然後再固定於空心板上。這些處理過程比織布還費時！
